Have you noticed that cartoons are more mature than they used to be?
I.E. i-Carly
they steal,disreguard their guardians,yell and scream,etc.
Total Drama Island
its all about making out and who can get the girl. Its not very appropriate for an 8 year old
and the language in the cartoons these days
"sexy","hot"
the content
they always rip their shirts off and make out

what's your opinion
do cartoons push mature subjects to younger audiences,or am I being paranoid?
OK, some do, but then you get junk like Chowder and Flapjack, so who really knows what's going on
Why are mature cartoons immature?
like south park its not mature its immature they cant think of good stuff and robot chicken
They're not. Seriously, how many ten year old would get the jokes? It's aimed at older crowds, and the jokes are references guys won't get. Are adult not allowed to enjoy potty humor?
I need a title for the topic: violence, mature humor in cartoons?
i can't think of a title for it. my teacher told me to be creative and wanted me to use figurative language.

i also need a title for : how to change a tire.

for the topic : the first day of school. do u think this title is ok: The Birth of Fall, Death of Summer

thank you for ur help.
★ Don't kill me.... (the guyren are watching.)

★ Oh Fudge

★ YES!! that is a great title!!! (you may want to change the comma into a semi-colon))

The Birth of Fall; the death of summer.
Was the Power Puff Girls originally supposed to be a mature cartoon?
I recently bought the complete DVD box set of the Power Puff Girls and among the special features were some poor quality episodes made by series creator Greg McCracken before the series was ever aired called the Whoop A.s.s Girls and the episodes were a bit more mature. It was funny in that the secret ingredient was not Chemical X but instead was a Can of Whoop A.ss LMAO!
Yes and no.
The Whoop--- Girls was originally created as a project for art school. So, yes, that was originally intended for a college audience.
Later on, when McCracken submitted the short to Cartoon Network, he most likely understood that there was no chance that he would be able to get away with making it a more mature series when/if it took off.(They didn't have Adult Swim back then)
Looking for animated cartoons with mature content?
A friend's birthday is coming up...and I want to get him something unique.

I know he likes cartoons that show freaky stuff. Does anybody know of any animated cartoon series or episodes that may offer this unique type of content?

For example, I am looking for animated cartoons, perhaps cartoon shorts, that feature plenty of blood and gore similar to itchy and scratchy and happy tree friends episodes. I am also looking for animated cartoons that feature scary, horror content, again, with cartoon gore and sick and twisted humour.

Does anybody know of any dvd's out there that can offer this, or where i can download these?

or does anyboyd know where I can download a compilation of all of the itchy and scratchy episodes at the very least?

Thanks
go to funnygames.com?18 or adult content its got alot of sexual contents! or google it
My guys like YuYu Hakusho, Inuyasha, Full Metal Alchemist, etc. Are these cartoons too mature for them?
A friend told me they're for grownups, but my guys have been watching for over a year now. I think the damage is done. My guys are 10 & 12, how bad could they be, they're on Cartoon Network!
Just because it's on Cartoon Network doesn't mean it's OK for guys. In fact, Cartoon Network has a lineup they call 'Adult Swim - and those cartoons are intended for much more mature audiences. I know I've seen Inuyasha and Full Metal Alchemist on Adult Swim lineups...I'd rate Inuyasha as somewhat to fairly violent (they go around killing demons, and there is a love story, too)...Full Metal Alchemist is pretty violent for sure. I'm not familiar with YuYu Hakusho, though.

I'd definitely say that anything on Adult Swim should be checked out before you let your guys watch it. They set those cartoons up so that they're on pretty late and they make sure they advertise heavily that these cartoons aren't meant for younger guys.

Since your guys have been watching for those cartoons for a year, maybe you could sit down and talk them about the cartoons - find out what they like about them. And watch a couple episodes with them.

Just brace yourself...Inyuyasha and Full Metal Alchemist both have pretty extensive backstories that have to be memorized before the episodes make a whole lot of sense. Your guys will likely very enthusiastically tell you all about all the characters and I promise it will be confusing as all heck. These cartoons are a LOT like soap operas that have been on for years and years...everybody has a story and everybody's story is both important, complex, and intricately entwined in the broad plot of the series.

But it'll be a good conversation to have. You'll know what attracts your guys to these cartoons when you're done - whether it's the violence, the humor, the slapstick, the love story, or just the interesting animation.

Seriously, though - remember about Adult Swim...some of those cartoons are absolutely rauchy! (I'm not knocking them, I love Adult Swim, but it's not for little guys.)
Are cartoons getting too mature?
I was watching a clip from a cartoon that came on late at night on cartoon network. There were many comments stating that TV shows like this ruin the innocence of guyren but it's a late night show for teens and comes on before Adultswim (since Adultswim and Cartoonnetwork share the same channel). I dont see a problem with it because teens need shows too. What do you think.

The clip I was referring to (I find the song catchy):
www.youtube.com/watch?v=TW71JI6AZUA
I don't think that its a problem since its a late night show and not a guys show. If we go with the mentality of the people who complain about it then Adult Swim shouldn't exist either. Actually I think Cartoon Network has gotten tamer than it was before I remember when I was growing up there used to be a show called Toonami and they used to show cartoons like Batman or Batman Beyond or Yu Yu Hakusho or DBZ. These cartoons were more action packed that the shows now of course but they were also alot more serious they had interesting characters and storylines and comedy that required more effort than saying the word fart. It wasn't so mature that guys couldn't enjoy it and or that they would be scarred or anything. However it gave more credit to guys and animators had to work harder in order to satisfy the needs of guyren. They couldn't do a crappy job just because it was a guys show. Now the shows seem pale in comparison not just on Cartoon Network but on many other cartoon channels too. Every once in a while there will be a really good show that comes around like Avatar the last Airbender but that is just an anomoly. I'm not saying that all the shows should be serious on Cartoon Network but I do think they should be better written. If they do comedy then it should be more like the Animaniacs, the Looney Toons or Tom and Jerry. Give guys more credit even they know the difference between good and bad.
Am I the only adult that watches cartoons?
I'm a mature, responsible adult with my own home but I just like cartoons. I would like to have a guy friend who is a responsible adult that likes to watch cartoons as well and maybe watch Nick or CN together? Maybe?
I like family guy and robot chicken. But I do sometimes watch some of the ones I did when I was younger and find them comforting in a weird way.
